Sold: the neighbors and i had a sidewalk sale. I tried giving this one to a kid who liked it, but his mom refused to take it without paying for it. I give from my heart. I saw something in this kid, and it was special. minutes later I spotted him playing with some of his friends from the neighborhood, and holding this painting close to his chest.

I brought these graphite drawings back from school. these are a few of my personal milestones. so yes, I am am quite proud of these.

strangely, although they are tangible in my studio, their presence seems surreal—I see my signature and my handwritten notes on them, but my mind thinks that they were drawn by someone else, or these were just a dream (a good dream).

although I am done with school for a while, I will continue with my drawing practice. I recently purchased a Charles Bargue book which I shall use for my copy drawings. the purpose of using Bargue’s drawings for practice is to train my eyes to see commonly occurring abstract shapes that happen in a human form; and train myself to draw accurately.

the bicycle is a homage to my brompton. I sold several of my favorite rangefinder lenses to own it. a compact folding bicycle is a necessity for a small space.

my new studio is not palatial, but it will do. I am grateful that after two years I finally have a place that has an en suite full bath, and not a quarter mile away! it was fun for a while, but it, amongst other things, eventually sapped the spirit from me.

not as much working space as the old studio, so most of the other studio items are a few blocks away in a storage center. ceiling is not as tall as in the old studio, but I am still able to optimize the vertical space. the compactness of this space probably will dictate smaller paintings, and it also will drive me to paint outside, which is a good thing.
